TomDecapolis (2389), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2008 On tap at the Minneapolis location. Pours a translucent golden with some orange notes and a medium bubbly white head. Aroma of sweet malty cereal grains, light citrus, floral and lightly toasty. Flavor was the same sweet malty cereal grains, some citrus notes and light alcohol. Pigfoot (2224), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Apr 25, 2007 Clear, crisp, golden hue....nice, stable, solid head...lookin’ good.
Nose is sweetness, big and buttery, bold and malty, nutthing wrong with that...very maibock-y...
Taste: yum, same as it ever was! Big malt, huge buttery character, but wonderful, full malt flavor...yum, I say, and yum, I say again...
Smooth, this mabock, tasty, delicious, and so much more.
detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007 Pours a lightly hazed amber gold beneath a nice head of sudsy cream colored foam. A gentle pour provides half an inch of foam. A more rugged pour provides close to two inches of foam. In any event, this beer as poured provides a decent head of foam with nice head retention and lacing. The aroma provides a nice honey-sweetened malt, on the mild side, with a hint of grain.
Sweet and lightly tart at the same time, with a crisp clean lagered beer flavor. Grain is noticeable and appreciated. There are noble hops in the finish that blend into a sweet/tart/lightly spiced aftertaste.
