detroiter (957), Euphoria, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2007 Pours a lightly hazed orange copper color, the haze fell away as it warmed a bit. A slight head of white foam provided some fine Belgian lace. The aroma was full of wheat bread, honey, and orange liquer.
A very complex set of flavors in this beer, with new flavors slipping in all the time. The malt was heavy on the caramel and toffee, and the honeymalt for that matter, with a touch of orange and dry spice. Subsequent flavors include bitter tangerine, orange peel, peach pit, leather, oak, and smooth alcohol. The hops were not discernable, but the beer was far from being overly sweet. In fact, it was darn near perfect. Medium full bodied, and moderately carbonated, this beer was exceptionally drinkable.
