Growler from my friend Beervirgin72 - Thanks Dawn!! - Pours cloudy brown with a short offwhite head that fades quickly to a slight film but doesn’t leave much lace. Aromas of caramel, nuts, some toffee, and slight bannana. Flavor is malty with lots of caramel, nuts, toffee, and some peat. Some smokiness there too, some raisin notes can be found throughout as well. Finish is slightly dry. Good medium body with a somewhat watery palate but a good smooth mouthfeel. Solid brew really. Quite enjoyable..

Nutty brown in color. Small head. Very flavorful...Fruity, sweet, malty tasting. For a darker beer, not bitter. Tried this in Chicago, was a "Special" beer for the day...This is the first darker beer I have enjoyed...

On tap at RB King of Prussia, pa. Deep amber color with a strong sweet aroma. Flavor is sweet, very sweet with fruit, caramel, and other sweet flavors. The problem is that its too sweet and horribly unbalanced. Listed at 8% at the brewpub - not bad, but they could have done better.

Draught at the brewpub. Clear reddish-brown color with off white head that laced the glass. Smelled of graham cracker, toasted bread, and subdued cinnamon. Lightly toasted biscuity malt flavor. Successively sweet, tart, and then spicy on the tongue.

Deep brown with a thick, creamy tan head. Aroma is sweet with caramel and toffee. Silky and light mouthfeel. Caramel, malts, and toffee dominate the taste, with some earthiness towards the end. Enjoyable, but did want more substance.

On tap at RB Chicago, just called Scotch Ale. Murky amber colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. Muted toffee aroma nd flavour with a nutty and fruity bitter finish. Medium bodied. Not bad, but seems like something is missing.

tap at the s.denver location. dark brown pour with hints of red and a thin yellow white head that did not last. aroma was intriguing, some smoke to it that was good with a godd fruit note like plums or cherry juice. taste was surprisingly lighter than i expected. yeah, it had a mainly malt sweetness, but there was not as much smokey flavor as the aroma hinted at. just a nice even sweet flavor with caramel, a bit of berry, and a touch of bitterness on the follow through. i’ll drink this again while it is on tap.

Sampled at Rock Bottom Milwaukee. Pours a dark crimson color, small vanilla head. Aroma is cherries, dark like chewing the pits, plums, not very big or smokey. No booze. Flavor is sweet cherries, custard, not much smoke still, ends with a cheap scotch bite. The booze is not pleasent. Wimpy beer. Boo.
