Nov 30, 2004 This beer poured a reddish/brown color and had a sweet aroma. It was very smooth going down with no harshness at all. The taste sweet and fruity.

Nov 30, 2004 Nice dark amberish appearance. Had a nice sweet fruit aroma to it. Flavorwise is where it was at. Just had a nice overall taste to it and went down very smooth. I enjoyed this beer.

May 4, 2008 On Cask at NERAX 2008 Somerville, MA. While the common RB northstar is a golden, drinkable, but light in flavor that Ive had many times, this was an example on when an expert brewer (Jerry in Boston RB) hand crafts a small batch. Much darker and thicker appearance, much more flavor, much smoother palate, a bear that you could drink on and on...but sadly the cask was a one-time thing.

Jul 8, 2009 Very nice amber. Taste is smooth on the tounge, mostly malt with little hops drinkable but somewhat average.

Apr 21, 2005 On tap at the Braintree, MA location: Pours amber with a medium offwhite head. Mild earthy aroma with light coffee and hairspray. Flavor is earthy, light chocolate. Mild bitterness in the finish. Good.

Apr 28, 2003 Had this at the King of Prussia, Pa location. Cask version. Nice creamy amber. That was about it. Tasted like any other amber.

Nov 6, 2004 Deep amber color with a small amount of white head. Carmely malty aroma. Tastes much the same as it smells, though a little more watery than i would have liked. Overall though, not a bad beer.
