On tap at the brewpub: Very nice pour, a reddish amber body with a heft head that laced the glass nicely. It had a fruity, malty nose with sweet citrusy hops and a touch of the floral. The flavor mirrored the nose and added touches of caramel with a sturdy balancing hop bitterness. Very drinkable, tasty ale from Iain Wilson.

Mug club draft on tap at the brewpub (Orland Park, IL). Pours a reddish amber, darker but not copper, a good tan thick head that laces ok, dies to a decent film. A bit hazy, a nice appearance. Aromas are citrusy, grapefruit and lemon, orange and a touch of peach, caramel and pale malts underneath. Light, subtle, appealing. Initial is grapefruit hop dominant, but not overly bitter, with some lighter caramel and toffee, pale malts. Moderate bitterness as hops are more of the driving factor in this beer, bitter with a touch of resin and decent florals, grapefruit, orange and peach drive into the flavor. Dries up a little in the finish. A tasty sessionable brew that is a markable improvement over the Fire Chief recipe. I like.

Served in Mug Club glass at Orland Park Rock Bottom. Pours dark reddish amber with small off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts with hops and citrus. Flavor is caramel malt heavy with nice citrus and hop bitterness coming though in end. Nice mouthfeel and good carbonation. Nicely balanced and highly drinkable.
