Commercial Description:
A great example of an American-style Pale Ale. Light to medium bodied with a light malt flavor and a tangy, hoppy finish. Brewed with light Caramel and Honey malts. Crystal and Golding hops lend a pleasant floral and citrus finish.

Medium gold, thin white chainmail head. Faint classic aroma. Lemony, not bitter, a bit briny. Not outstanding or distinctive, but a servicable session beer.

On tap at the Pittsburgh Rock Bottom. Has some hoppy aroma and a slight hint of vinegar smell. It is a bit floral and fruity too. Has the ubiquitous appearance of american pale yellow lager. This tries to come on like an IPA but it never quite gets there. More well behaved and mannered. Easier to drink and appreciate compared to an IPA. This stuff is OK considering I don’t like hopped brews and it is not offensive. If you like hops, this may be less than you would expect for the style. Taste is as mild as the lumpy dog, pretty fruity and flowery. They also offer a cask edition that is dry hopped. and you can tell it is.

A blah pale ale. My first ever visit to this place, I was expecting a lot more. Aroma was weak hops. Pour was a clear orange with no head. Taste was malty and syrupy with hops in the background. Not much of an aftertaste.

Not that great. I’ve had a lot of the rock bottom beers, most of which I dont see listed here. but this was certainly one of the better ones. this place really just doesnt seem to make beer that well for a restaurant who’s entire marketing scheme is targeted toward their beer making ability. The first time I went to this restuarant I could tell i was getting ripped off. I still go there cause they have great food, a lot of which is made with their beer. I just suggest saving your money and getting a water instead of an overpriced and unfulfilling homebrewed beer. The pesto pizza and sausage soaked beer pizza is highly recommended.
