Known as Freedom Trail Porter at the Braintree, MA location: Poured black with a thick tan head. Mild chocolate aroma, light coffee. Flavor is chocolate mostly with light coffee. Mild sour finish with roasted malt. Nicely hoppy.

Strong coffee aroma. The color is a weird, it has a look like a glass of flat chocolate Coke. Pretty good overall.

Good general presentation, but a bit flat and the malt tasted a bit too roasted, almost burnt. OTher than that, fairly smooth beer.

Pours dark brown with offwhite head. Aroma is of burnt malt, coffee, and a bit of chocolate. Flavor is a bit astringent on the tongue but still very drinkable. Good brew.

tap at the s. denver location. poured a nice black that was far from pitch with a cool gray/white head. slight gray head. smelled of sugar and chocolate. taste was dry cocoa powder, rich chocolate, a bit of caramel. no noticeab;e bitter side, but was not unbalanced. i assume the hops were just so light as to do their job and stay the hell out of the way. a good beer i will drink again.

Sampled cask conditioned at R.B. Milwaukee. Dark coffee color, thin bubbly tan head. Overall, a roasty grapefruit hop porter. Tart coffee and sweet cologne aroma. I almost thing the GF hops in taste come from Milwaukee’s "cask conditioning", as the cask red had the same taste. To me, very light for a porter, but a decent beer overall.

Draught. At Rock Bottom at the waterfront in Pittsburgh. I enjoyed this one while playing hooky from work just for the hell of it. Nice nose of coffee and bitter cocoa, and the taste was the same. Good dark ruby color with a nice creamy head that did a nice job of lacing all the way down the glass. For a chain, Rock Bottom has always been good, no matter where I try their beers. This one was the same. A very nice porter.
