Feb 16, 2009 Tap... Poured opaque, deep brown with amber highlights and a beige head. Aroma of candy, chocolate and malt. Lots of smoked flavors with refreshing malt qualities and a minimum bitterness. A little coffee in the finish. Very drinkable.

Aug 18, 2008 Deep brown, almost black, with a thin creamy head. Very hoppy, with flavors of smoky peat and hops dominating. A little thin as well.

Apr 21, 2008 Best Rock Bottom so far. Aroma is malty, choc and coffee. Flavor is balanced and very tasty, smooth and clean as most of their brews are.

Dec 11, 2007 Draught. Poured black with thin white head no lacing. Malty aroma with a bit of chocolate. Spicy and peppery flavour, not unplesent, but unlike most porters. Peppery finish. It’s hard to rate this, it’s so unlike most other porters.

Aug 10, 2005 On tap at Portland location. Dark brown with ruby edges and a white head. Nice aroma of roasted malt and mocha. Flavor has notes of caramel, toffee, roasted malt and chocolate. Finish is expectedly roasty as well. Thin bodied with moderate carbonation. Solid

Dec 6, 2004 Mahogany tinted black beer with a thin tan head. Subtle chocoalte aroma, caramel sweetness up front with chocolate and coffee flavour. Lightly bitter finish.
