| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 18, 2006 Bethesda location. A hazy orange beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is sweet with a light touch of hops. While the flavor is sweet with strong notes of berries and caramel, as well as lighter notes of wood, leading to a dry bitter finish. I find it somewhat boring. hopscotch (5543), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 2, 2006 Draft... Bethesda location... Mostly clear amber ale with a small, fizzy, off-white head. The nose is a marriage of caramel, grapefruit, pine and apricot. Sturdy malt, but not standout. Hopped nicely. Leans slightly on the bitter side of balance. Medium-bodied with sufficient carbonation. Bone-dry finish. KUEric (632), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 1, 2006 on Tap in Bethesda: Red in color with little to no head above the copper beer. A weak and light aroma, not too much to speak of. Some malts, sweet brown sugar, and hops. Flavor is good, not great. Malts metallic, and a tad hoppier than many ambers Ive tried. Medium bitter sweet flavor with a sweet finish of moderate duration. bfeldmann (1042), Wilmington, Delaware, USA

Flavor was fruity hops and sweet good mix to it. Smooth throughout. Was a good beer." SledgeJr (3003), Omaha, Nebraska, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 6, 2006 On tap at the Bethesda location. Amber in color with a white head. No aroma. Great lacing. Tastes like a maltier version of the pale ale sold here. Has a bitter finish that lingers on the tongue. Lacks any serious flavor. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 2, 2006 Sampled at R.B. Milwaukee ("Raccoon Red"). Both cask and standard tap. Light tan head, mostly lasting. Stale, but sweet malts, light urinal puck hints. Fruity mellowed hops, slightly fizzy body (5 / 4 / 6 / 3 / 12). Cask version is mostly flat, very evident grapefruit and orange hops. Give it an APA feel. Tart pez sweetness (6 / 4 / 6 / 3 / 13). Slightly better to me than the normal draught. frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 25, 2005 Yeast particles hovered and settled in a thick hazed, deep copper brew with a creamy, off-tan head that reduced to a splotchy film and left thick lace. Aroma was lemony & peppery with a hint of green leaves. Smooth & well balanced with hopcit and lemon dominating the finish. Slightly thin but slick mouthfeel.
