Oct 4, 2007 Mug @ Desert Ridge Location Phoenix, AZ. Malt and spice aroma and also a noticable keg metal on the nose. Amber body with off white head. More malt in body flavor as it wasn’t an over spicey bitter octoberfest beers like many I’ve had. Decent bew as far as style for me.

Sep 29, 2007 On tap at the Waterfront, Pittsburgh. Hazy ruby caramel, off white head. Aroma is malt, roasted nuts, caramel, tomato, metal. Flavor is malt, roasted nuts, caramel, wheat, grass.

Sep 24, 2007 Draught. Pours clear tawny with an average, frothy, off-white head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is average malt (hay, straw, meal, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (sweat, dough) with notes of dates. Medium bodied, oily texture, average carbonation and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity and bitterness.

Sep 22, 2007 Draft mug from on tap at the brewpub - This one pours a dark mahogany brew with a tan head of lasting foam and a distinctly caramel aroma. Tastewise, this a slight, watered-down marzen, alright but nothing to sing about.

Sep 21, 2007 Very nice interpretation of the style,,,big robust caramel sweetness, with touches of bread dough and molasses and a very light hop profile in the distant background. Light lager mouthfeel and light alcohol presence makes these very repeatable and thirst-quenching. Nicely brewed and satisfying drink.

Feb 11, 2007 Pours a clear orange amber with an inch or so of nearly tan head. Spotty lacing. Bold malt in the aroma.
Excellent caramel flavors in the malt, though not as sweet as some Oktoberfests I have tried. I am sometimes put off by the sweetness in this style – but must say that this beer is very nicely done. Some nice herbal/floral/spicy hops in the flavor and into the aftertaste. More sweet (but not overly so) malt in the finish. Some toffee, perhaps?
Medium to full bodied with a nice flavor that refuses to quit.
