Sample at the Chicago location. Quite clear gold-copper, little head retention, touch of lace...very sweet, malty nose, honey mostly with little robust roasty/smoky character...flavor much more interesting, though sweet and syrupy dominates the mouthfeel, a bit of acerbic character comes in later, charred would and light dry herbal hops. OK.

San Diego / sweet, malty flow. it actually reminded me of Dead Guy. bubblegum, toast, orange citrus, slight banana, little to no spice. not that complex, but pretty smooth.

Tap in Denver. Pours a rich amber with a sweet, sugary malt aroma. Flavor is a sweet bitterness like an English Ale with sugar. Palate is a bit watery. Good Oktoberfest.

Medium brown colour. Light toffee, heavily fruity aroma. Slightly caramelly flavour, again fairly estery in character. Apricot, red grapes...lager?

09.29.05 Tap at Denver brewpub. Clear amber. Fruity grain, not toasty. Pretty sweet with a long finish. Doesn’t display that salted breadiness I look for.

Draught, Rock Bottom, Westminster. Head is fully diminishing. Body is medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain/bread, caramel), lightly hoppy (apricot). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.

Sampled at Rock Bottom Denver during GABF tan/amber color rocky white head well laced. Smell is light weak hop and some toffee. Palate is smooth and well coated. Flavor has a touch of smoke to it and a toffee malt and a pice of wheat. I don’t like it

Chicago location. The beer is a glowing amber body with a thin white head. The aroma is almost non-existent. The flavor is nicely marzen. Sweet Vienna malts, caramel, touch of starchy fruits like plantains. I’m not a "fest" fan, but this is good. The palate has some carbonation/effervescent qualities.
