Ale_Drinker (1066), Sunnyvale, California, USA Sep 15, 2007 This is a great beer, I’m not sure why there are so many poor reviews. Maybe they’ve tweaked their recipe a bit because now it is superb. Pours golden with a medium lasting head. Aroma is big bold citrus- not really grapefruit but orange/tangerine/lemon. Very good. Flavor follows the aroma and is slightly sweet. Finish has a nice bitter kick. Borderline pale ale/IPA. Rocks!!!! ElGaucho (1721), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA Nov 18, 2006 Draught in Campbell. Nice hop aroma. Hazy gold body with no bubbles and an off-white head. Nice brussels lace. Creamy with doughy hops. Very nice. Excellent. I am pleasantly surprised. A little somthing off in the finish but not enough of an issue to cloud my enjoyment of this brew. Uriel (141), San Jose, California, USA Sep 5, 2005 Draft: Rock Bottom in Campbell, CA
Very light tan color with caramel notes and bare hints of smokiness. There’s just not much to this beer - it had a hint of orangey sweet flavor, and one high note of hops, but it definitely didn’t stick around. DarkElf (2650), La Jolla, California, USA Jun 29, 2004 (Draft: Rock Bottom in Campbell, CA) The official description of this lightly flavorful beer talks about a malty sweetness, piney grapefruit and great for hop heads; It’s moderately sweet, but the rest is all lies; It’s not very malty and the mild hops isn’t exactly going to appeal to hop heads; The dry finish is lightly bitter because all the malt flavor is gone; Very little in the nose; Light amber/copper in color; Off-white head fades to a thin sheen, and leaves a somewhat dense but thin coating of lacing on the glass
