WhiteSoxFan (152), USA Apr 28, 2006 Updated: Jun 2, 2006Draft & Growler fill. Pours super clear, nice amber color, maybe tiny bit of an orange tint. Tan head that lowers to a nice layer of foam and provides some good lacing. Aroma is malty, sweet, and spicy. Flavor is good - a little bitter up front, and then sweet, a little bit of caramel. Nice malty undertones without being overbearing at all. Spicy in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium, but a decent amt. of carbonation, bitterness, and spiciness makes it feel lighter. This is my second of brewmaster Rick’s special German beers and I like them a lot. Bocks are an intersting style that I’ve seen interpreted a number of ways, most of them usually thicker and maltier than this one, but I really enjoy this brew. Another growler of this on 5/31/06. Initial rating stands. Also, the bartender said this beer is about 9%. I would never have guessed. There is a tiny bit of alcohol warmth, but it hides 9% very well. ratman197 (2258), Arvada, Colorado, USA Apr 20, 2006 On tap @ rock Bottom poured a clear copper with a small amber head. Aromas of sweet malt and fruitiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of sweet malt and fruitiness with a dry finish.
