At Bethesda location. A dark brown beer with a red shine underneath a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of roasted malt and chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty and rather roasted combined with medium strength notes of chocolate and lesser notes of nuts. Nice.

(Bethesda) Clear red-black body with creamy beige head, leaves nice lacing. Aroma is inviting -- milk chocolate, sweet, some roasty. Taste is medium sweet, roasty chocolate. Watery light-medium body.

On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a dark black with red tints at the edges and a small sized off white head. Aromas and tastes of chocolate, light coffee, and roasted malts. Weaker body for a stout.

Charlotte NC Iron Horse Stout-on tap-pours a tan head that laces with black color. Aroma is sweet. Taste is roasty, dark malt, chocolate with coffee aftertaste. Not my taste but nicely done.

Milwaukee: Dark reflective black color with a thin brown nitro head. Mild malty aroma. Body is semi-sweet and finishes a little too bitter. Thin, off-balanced and just not quite all-together. I'm really not a big fan of brewpub chain beers.

Nitro... Bethesda location... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Terrific retention. The nose is all cocoa, vanilla and smoke. The flavor is perfectly balanced with toasted malts, bitter cocoa and charcoal... numbs the tongue. Light bodied and very astringent with pillow-soft carbonation. Roasted, bone-dry finish.

Nitro at the Bethesda location. Creamy light tan head, typical nitro stout appearance. Nose of light roast and cream, some egg and light char scents as well. Simple toast and milk flavors, typical Guinness clone recipe, but drinkable. Finishes thin and a just slightly dry/husky.

Draught at Brewpub during RBSG DC 06 Weekend Black, average head and lacing. Nose of moderate astringency, coffee, vanilla and light char. The flavor is dry and bitter, lots of astringency. The finish is lingering and dry, not enough body.
