ROGUE (621), Newark, Delaware, USA Aug 29, 2009 On tap at Rock Bottom in Denver. Poured a bright yellow with a slight cloudiness. Has a deep strawberry aroma. The flavor starts with a bold srawberry kick that mellows out into a nicely balanced wheat. Not a bad beer but nothing special. Floral and fruit aromas. Golden coloured and hazy in appearance with a crisp and dry lasting wheat finish. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Feb 1, 2008 Ok, maybe I’m just prejudiced, but this tasted more like alco-pop than beer to me. Too much strawberry, mingling with some light wheat and malt notes. Not my cup of tea at all. zathrus13 (1288), Mount Laurel, New Jersey, USA Aug 25, 2006 On tap in King of Prussia. Yellow, with a white head. Aroma is all strawberry, bit in a good way. Flavor is strawberries, wheat, and some spice.
Body is thinner than expected, and is a little bitter, not sweet as I expected. SB (317), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 26, 2006 On-Tap, Pittsburgh.
Cloudy yellow, with huge 3 finger frothy white head. Nice lacing on the glass, all the way to the last drop. Aroma yeasty, buttery. Flavor was bready, buttery, lemon, and hints of honey. No strawberry aroma or flavors were anywhere to be found. Tiny hints of sweetness as it warmed. Acidic, thin bodied, big carbonation. Overall, it was just another wheat beer. hopdog (5525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 15, 2005 On tap at the Milwaukee Location. Poured a light yellow with a small sized white head. Strong strawberry aroma (reminded me of the strawberry lemonade I usually get at Ruby’s Restaurant). Tastes of strawberries and light wheat. Thinner and watery body. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA May 31, 2005 Pale, neon yellow and clear, with a dash of white for the head. Aroma is mega strawberries, like strawberry Kool Aid powder. Some citric / lemon acidity is thrown in with the strawberry heap for flavor. Very light and fruity. Bing cherry aftertaste. FROTHINGSLOSH (1961), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 3, 2004 Updated: Aug 12, 2007I was looking forward to trying this one as I generally like this style. This draft poured a cloudy yellow color with a small white head. There was a light wheaty aroma. The flavor was surprisingly sweet, bready and had some noticeable wheat notes. There really was not much strawberry flavor but there was a hint of vague fruitiness. It had a nice thick texture. Probably my favorite of the beers we had there.
