Headbanger (1012), Aurora, Illinois, USA Jul 7, 2008 Nitro at brewery(4/24/08)-A dark black body with and aroma of coffee and roasted malt. Flavor of the same on this medium to full bodied brew. Overall pretty bland. hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 10, 2008 Nitro... DLD’08... Pitch black ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The subtle aroma extends a thin note of mocha and a touch of vanilla. Hardly medium-bodied with a skim milk mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. The flavor is pretty weak, but there is an insinuation of mocha. Watery, chocolate, Sahara-dry finish. kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Apr 14, 2008 Nitro. Pitch black creamy tan nitro head. Dry roast flavor is the same a bitter dark roast finish. Creamy nitro feel. A solid dry irish stout with a hint of sweetness.

Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 12, 2008 Since I rarely enjoy a nitro-pulled version of an ale, I had the cask conditioned alternative. Nice pour, a dark, dark brown body with a firm, sustained, tightly bubbled head. Good lacing. The aroma had a roasted nuttiness to it along with roasted barley and a splash of coffee. Some chocolate and a soft touch of dark sweet malt were added to the flavor. It finishes on a dry nutty bitter note. Pretty decent.

Rock Bottom Warrenville, Warrenville, IL
