Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 12, 2008 I never used to care much for Amber Ales, but since brewers have realized that these can have a hoppy flavor, too, I’ve been coming around. This offereing from Griffin Ford begins with a good looking pour, a somewhat hazy amber body with a firm off-white head that laced the mug nicely. The aroma has a caramelly sweetness overlaid by grapefruit, orange zest, and earthy hop scents. The bitterness is mild in the drinking, but the hops add much fruitiness to the flavor. The finish has a moderate citric bitterness that lingers for some time. Nice.

Rock Bottom Warrenville, Warrenville, IL
