TheDean (784), MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Apr 17, 2005 I got the last glass of this beer for the season. A strong tripple with a kick to it. Smooth but powerful. Nothing overly special, but worth a try when in season. Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2005 Updated: Aug 11, 2005This is one of those cases where, as they say, the "vanilla turned my grotten brown"... quite literally. The brew has a strange, hazy, debris-filled, orange look to it, pouring almost headless, to boot. The aroma is very sweet, cloyingly so, with a heavy vanilla scenting (see above). Little memory of the flavor returns to me as I scan my notes. All that comes back is "sweet" and "bitter rush of hops." This isn’t how I normally think of a Trippel (their spelling). I’ll pass on future testings.

Rock Bottom Warrenville, Warrenville, IL
BCAR (213), Naperville, Illinois, USA Jan 29, 2005 Unlike any trippel or belgian for that matter that I’ve ever had. Opaque, citrus-looking type of liquid. Spicy, thin ale that really didn’t seem to fit the style too well in my understanding. As with most of Rock Bottom Warrenville’s beers this was basically a poor attempt at brewing a particular style. Keep trying, I guess.
