hopscotch (4679), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 9, 2008 Draft… DLD’08… Opaque dark brown ale with a small, creamy, white head. Good retention. Restrained chocolate and caramel in the nose. Medium-bodied with a watery mouthfeel and soft carbonation. Thin. Too sweet; not from too much malt; from too few IBUs. Mostly bland, lightly sweet finish. Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 26, 2006 Complex? Hmm... What I was poured was a deep brown ale with thick beige head that did some great lacing. The aroma is a buttery toffee with a touch of roasted barley. Pretty much the same on the taste, although I kept searching for the fruits that they mentioned. A light herbal hopping shows up in time for the finish.

Rock Bottom Warrenville, Warrenville, IL
Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 16, 2006 On tap at RB Warrenville. Poured a medium reddish-brown with a short cap of beige head.. some lacing. Nose had a sweet, airy nuttiness to it.. mild detergent, faint coffee, and dried cocoa too.. didn’t do it for me. Flavor was of dry cocoa throughout.. sweet nuttiness, light herbal bitterness, and a hint of darker fruits. Tacky herbal finish... other than that, not really memorable on the palate. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2008 draft. pours hazy brown with off white head. nose is toasty, nutty, cookie. flavors of roast, cookie, chocolate. pretty flavorful brown. DrnkMcDermott (1597), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Dec 12, 2007 Draft sampler. The chalkboard at the establishment says this has a 5.2% abv. Dark brown color with a light head. There’s some niceness to the aroma, but it was hard to pick it out in this bar. BIG nuttiness up front: wal- and hazel-nut with a bit of toffee malt and some roastiness. Backed by a dry finish.
