hopscotch (4433), Vero Beach, Florida, USA May 8, 2008 Draft… DLD’08… Pours clear and almost colorless. Nice, mid-sized, creamy, white head. Terrific retention. The nose is a touch grainy, but mostly nondescript. Light to medium-bodied with lively carbonation. Sweet, grainy, buttery flavor. No hops? Finishes sweet. There should be more crispness/ bitterness in this style. Regardless of style, it desperately needs more hops. Cornfield (4255), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2005 Updated: Apr 17, 2008The original rating was for the pre-Griffin Ford version. This is more true to syle, the sweet grainy malt balanced with a solid grassy bitterness, finishing on a light hoppy note. Good warm weather ale. ------------------------------------------------- Original Rating, 2/24/2005 - 4/3/3/3/9 - 2.1 An interesting variant on the Kolsch style. Nice yellow/gold color, solid beading, rocky head, good lacing... but it falls quite short on aroma, flamora, and taste. Very light malty flavoring with an assertive hopping. But it really doesn’t exhibit any of the mellowness that I normally associate with a Kolsch.

Ughsmash (2958), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 16, 2006 On tap at RB Warrenville. I thought this was a well-crafted Kolsch.. albeit not one of my favorite styles. Poured a clear, ultra-pale golden with a creamy white head. Nose was of corn husk and honey... sweet and non-offensive with a touch of lemon on the back-end. Flavor was of bready malt, corn, and faint citrus zest.. mildly-bitter herbal hops toward the back.. well-balanced. Grainy corn husk on the palate with a decent overall feel.. lighter-bodied.. dry and refreshing. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Sep 6, 2005 Totally transparent and pale bright yellow in color with a creamy, 1/2" white head. Aroma leads in with fabric spray, dryer sheets, pils staunch, lemons, corn husks and biscuit crust. More flavor inlay initially, transitioning to bready, buttered croissants. Some harsh lemon acidity and a dry, chafing lick from Saaz hops. For a blonde, the hop profile is somewhat improperly skewed too excessively. For my likes, it’s just sub par. drewbeerme (1782), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2008 draft. pours clear straw with small white head. not much of an aroma here, grainy. flavor is a bit metallic, grassy, sweet biscuit, light bitterness. clean and refreshing. a nice light beer actually.
