Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Feb 14, 2005 Updated: Apr 17, 2008The original rating was for the pre-Griffin Ford version. This is more true to syle, the sweet grainy malt balanced with a solid grassy bitterness, finishing on a light hoppy note. Good warm weather ale.
-------------------------------------------------
Original Rating, 2/24/2005 - 4/3/3/3/9 - 2.1
An interesting variant on the Kolsch style. Nice yellow/gold color, solid beading, rocky head, good lacing... but it falls quite short on aroma, flamora, and taste. Very light malty flavoring with an assertive hopping. But it really doesn’t exhibit any of the mellowness that I normally associate with a Kolsch.

Rock Bottom Warrenville, Warrenville, IL
DrnkMcDermott (1597), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Dec 10, 2007 Draft. here’s what they pushed to all the clueless yuppies asking for a Bud Light. Very pale "lite" color under a foamy head. Light smell, but at least free of adjuncts. Taste is similarly light in malt, without much hop character. I thought it had more of a Dortmunder than a Kolsch feel. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Nov 16, 2006 On tap at RB Warrenville. I thought this was a well-crafted Kolsch.. albeit not one of my favorite styles. Poured a clear, ultra-pale golden with a creamy white head. Nose was of corn husk and honey... sweet and non-offensive with a touch of lemon on the back-end. Flavor was of bready malt, corn, and faint citrus zest.. mildly-bitter herbal hops toward the back.. well-balanced. Grainy corn husk on the palate with a decent overall feel.. lighter-bodied.. dry and refreshing. JMerritt (1120), Macomb, Illinois, USA Dec 31, 2005 Pale golden with a frothy white head that is mostly diminishing. Leaves behind nice, sticky lacing. Mild aroma, some sweet wheat, but that’s about it. Crisp wheat flavor, some lemon citrus and othert mild grains. Moderately full mouthfeel. Slightly sour, moderately yeasty finish. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 4, 2008 draft. pours clear straw with small white head. not much of an aroma here, grainy. flavor is a bit metallic, grassy, sweet biscuit, light bitterness. clean and refreshing. a nice light beer actually.
