hombrepalo (545), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 24, 2008 On tap at Rock Fest ’08. Dark amber pour. Taste is sweet, light carmel, some fruit. Kinda heavy on the alcohol. Didn’t care to much for this one, liked the English style barley wine from Chicago Rock Bottom better. dm9831 (706), Monee, USA Mar 23, 2008 cloudy apricot, no head, bubbles around rim. of airy alcohol. flavor is mild creamy caramel with some alcohol warmth. finish is creamy. an o.k. brew.

tasted at

Red amber color with light biege head. Aroma is nice and fruity upfront with subdued alc and hop notes, caramel malt and dough come out as it warms up. Nice bitterness comes out over sweet caramel with red fruit and plum, some well hidden alc comes through towards the finish as well. A well balanced lightly hopped and well balanced barleywine. tompete (66), Burlington, Iowa, USA Feb 25, 2008 A wonderful barley wine. Not any appreciable hop nose. Bitterness well balanced with the malt flavors. Malt was chocolately, slightly winey with a light aftertaste of coffee. Very smooth mouth feel. Overall a well balanced, possibly a little simple for a barley wine.
