Commercial Description:
This medium-bodied, copper-color Pale Ale has an initial crystal malt sweetness that gives way to a variety of citrus hop notes. This Ale is perfect for any occasion. Try it with one of our spicy menu items.

Draft… DLD’08… Cloudy golden ale with a small, wispy, off-white head. Good retention. The aroma is too restrained to pull much of anything from it, regardless of the beer’s temperature or agitation. Medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. Thin, uninspired and sweet. A touch of grapefruit provides “too gentle” bitterness. Thin, watery finish. Too delicate for an APA!

My favorite style is IPA, followed closely by APA... which is why I don’t like this drink. It looks good, orange with a healthy off-white head. But the aroma is way too heavy on sweetness - - malt and, somehow, sweet pine hops and sweet orange hops. The malts dominate the fizzy mouthfeeling brew. Hop bitterness only returns, and just slightly, in the finish. This Peashooter might be an acceptable "something," but not an APA.

On tap at RB Warrenville. Poured a clear medium golden with a short white head that receded to a thin pool. Soft floral and pine hoppage pair with toffee sweetness and some light fruits in the aroma. Flavor was of sweet caramel, toffee, and citrus with a quick transition to heavy pine bitterness. Medium-bodied with a moderate level of bitterness.. thought it flowed quite well.. long, sweet citrus finish.

Clear transparent bronze in color with a short, creamy tan head. Aroma sets apart honey soaked hops, grapefruit, fabric softener and fresh cut grass, nearly striking up a headache from my juvenile allergy memories. Formidable, palatable bitterness, but the emphasis on Goldings might have been ill-advised. Nevertheless, we’re dealing with a by-the-books rendition of an APA. Chalky and dry palate feel with IBUs resounding most in the afterlife. Fair, safe, decent beer.
