Commercial Description:
This English-style E.S.B. is both complex and refreshing. Medium-bodied and deep red in color, Ragtop has a caramel and toffee maltiness derived from the crystal malts used. This well-rounded malt character is balanced by tangy, apricot flavors from Fuggle hops. Perfect with burgers and pastas.

draft. pours hazy red with off white head. aroma is nutty and toffee. flavors are malty, grainy, metallic, nutty, toasty, clean hop profile that cleanses the palate. not bad at all.

Draft… DLD’08… Clear copper ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Fantastic retention. I can only pull a rumor of caramel from the way-too-subtle nose. Light to medium-bodied with tingly carbonation. Lightly bitter with a hint of acidity. Finishes mildly bitter and lightly tart.

Sampled from a fresh growler. Appears reddish amber, foamy non-lacing head. A strong malty aroma. Dry basic crystal malt flavor. Medium bodied with some lingering bitterness. Inoffensive and quaffable. Is this really supposed to be an ESB?

pours translucent amber, slight head. aroma of sweet malt, hoppy citrus hints. the flavor is a bit too sweet for me, and i didn’t detect much hops. not sure what the target is for this....

tasted at Rock Bottom Chicago First Annual ROCK FEST

Pours a red amber color with a thin off white head. The aroma is a little fruity and some caramel. Nice balance in the taste, but the flavor is a little thin and watery. Malty and a little bit of caramel. Decent beer.
