On tap at the brewpub: This poured an opaque brown in color with little head. Aromas were hoppy with some burnt characteristics, roasted malt. Medium-bodied and concentrated with a slightly bitter finish.

On tap @ the pub. Pours a dark brown. Actually has a decent hoppy nose for a brown ale. Nice malt and nut flavor as well. A very solid beer, and slightly better than the Bourbon Barrel Aged version. Worth a shot.

Slightly preferred to its barrel aged brother this beer pours a nice nearly opaque brown with a thin light tan head that laces the glass nicely. Nice piney mixture of hops and nutty malt in the nose. Flavors are well blended, nutty, hops, and quite quaffable with a medium body. Good beer!

On tap at brewpub. Thought it had a nice body with a good malt backbone. Nothing too complex in flavor-- a hint of nut, but not like as much as many other nut brown ales. Better than the barrel aged version, IMHO.
