pantanap (781), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 27, 2008 tap at Rock Fest..... poured a dark caramel brown with a thin off-white head..... nose was bourbon, caramel, and raspberries.... flavors of raspberries and sweet caramel malt. mouthfeel left something to be desired as it lacked carbonation and was a bit too light. drewbeerme (1837), Chicago, Illinois, USA Mar 23, 2008 on tap at Rock Fest ’08. congrats on taking second place beating Clare’s Thirsty Ale! pours brown with small head. raspberry and bourbon on the nose, a bit syrupy raspberries. flavor has some toffee, syrupy raspberries and bourbon. pretty good. dm9831 (601), Monee, Illinois, USA Mar 23, 2008 dark brown, tan lace around rim. sweet fruit, malt and medicinal alcohol in the nose. sweet friut flavor, with bourbon highlights make for a surprisingly enjoyable beer (i don’t usually appreciate fruity beers). quite tasty.

FEST Dough77 (724), Aurora, Illinois, USA Mar 14, 2008 Another delcious offering from the Yorktown Rock Bottom. Great dark brown pour with small off white head. Just enough raspberry throughout as to not overpower but really add to the flavor. Not too sweet, really tasty. Cornfield (4331), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Mar 5, 2008 Served in a snifter, this has a dark brown body with a creamy light tan head that laces nicely. I’m not big on fruited-up beers, but the blending of fresh raspberries, Bourbon, oak, dark dried fruits, and fruity sweetness from the original Thunder makes for quite a pleasant nose. Very smooth in the mouth, this blends all of the elements from the aroma with just a touch of alcohol warmth into a drink that slides down nicely. Another fine job by Tim Marshall, who must have a lot of time on his hands if he could sit and watch this age for eight months on raspberries... Rock Bottom Yorktown, Lombard, IL
