Cornfield (4255), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2007 From the tap this poured a deep, dark brown, nearly black body with a scattering of cocoa bubbles in lieu of a head. There’s a definite Bourbon presence throughout the drink, but it never adds a boozey quality to the beer. The aroma has Bourbon, roasted malt, old bananas, oak, and vanilla. Smooth. The flavor gets the addition of milk chocolate, sweet stoned fruit, and a splash of alcohol. All are pleasantly blended into a mildly warming brew. Nice job, Tim! (Thanks, Mark!)

Drnk_McDermott (1543), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2007 11 oz. snifter. Big bourbon smell, all right; totally masks what the rest of the beer smells like--but that’s what we want from a BBA beer, eh? Deep black body with faint streaks of brown. A lot of bourbon taste, then traces of yeast, dark chocolate, and cherry cola. A bit of lemon in the finish. Somewhat "brighter" in flavor than a BA stout, and lower in alcohol. Fine sipping beer. I notice that brewmaster Tim has contrived to have several German styles on tap besides the usual "Rocktoberfest."
