Ughsmash (3082), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 5, 2007 On cask at R.B. - Yorktown. Poured deep brown with a tall, loose beige head. Soft semi-sweet chocolate in the nose.. mildly-roasted.. pleasant dusty cherry skins.. even deeper were some molasses and brown sugar notes. Flavor was rather intense with cherries and roasty semi-sweet chocolate leading the way.. a pinch of mild cherry sourness worked as an accent.. very tasty! Medium-bodied and it flowed quite well.. low carbonation from the cask treatment. Good one! Cornfield (4343), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Feb 19, 2007 Although the name suggests a fruit beer, the cherry extracts used play a minor enough role for this to stand as a Porter. Pulled from the cask, this pours a deep brown color with a bubbly tan head. Minimal lacing. The aroma is roasty with a low yet sharp nutty bitterness and a soft scent of cherries as if by afterthought. The flavor is lightly roasted malt and barley with a quiet fruitiness and a cherry pit bitterness that builds into and through the finish. Tasty. Rock Bottom Yorktown, Lombard, IL
