mgoy (289), Oak Brook, Illinois, USA May 9, 2008 On tap at Rock Bottom Yorktown. Rock Bottom Yorktown Lumpy Dog Brown is a deep mahogany color with a nicely formad off-white head. The aroma is very fresh and the taste is smooth with nice malty flavor and some sweet notes of prunes and caramel. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 22, 2008 on tap at RB Yorktown, pours dark red with off white head. nose is smokey, caramel, toasted biscuity. flavor has some smoke, toasted biscuit, and balanced well. a decent hop presence too. nice. kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Feb 18, 2008 Draught. In an effort to give the local Rock Bottoms regular line up a shot I tried their Lumpy Dog on draught 02/17/08. It was a solid brown, appearing reddish brown with a creamy light tan head. Aroma was typical malty, a bit cereal grain. A touch nutty, some sweetness from teh malts, not bad, a bit over carbonated in the mouth which was a turnoff. Ughsmash (3148), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA Mar 5, 2007 On tap at R.B. - Yorktown. Poured a clear, deep reddish-brown with a nice initial cap of off-white head. Toasty caramel and vegetal notes form an odd aroma.. light earthy tones.. not appetizing. Odd blend of dark caramelly sugars in the flavor.. some toasty chocolate notes.. too sweet and it had an ugly finish. A little bit tacky on the palate. Didn’t enjoy this one.
