1FastSTi (2423), Glendale, Wisconsin, USA Aug 12, 2008 Tap at GTMW. The beer pours to a hazy pale yellow/bronze body with a thick creamy white head. Sweet grains and yeasty hops in the aroma. Sweet yeasty bananas, coriander, and yeasts. Pale malts. Average sweet palate. I was excited to try a saison, but boring!
chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours amber with a thin white head. Aroma of fruit, sweet malt, and some coriander. It was an okay Saison. Cornfield (4412), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA Sep 14, 2008 Heckuva guy, brewmaster Tim Marshall. After talking a while, he not only bought me five beers (two of them barrel-aged), but he sprang for my salmon fish ’n’ chips and the desert of my choice... which was a bowl of steak chili and a calamari appetizer....
Note to Tim’s bosses and the corporate folk: Of course, I’m merely kidding. I didn’t have any chili that day.
As for the beer - It poured a copper/brass body with a dense, sustained head. Nice lace. The aroma had spicy candied fruit, sweet grains, and a light floral bouquet. Some white pappers and a splash of alcohol were added to the flavor. The finish is dry and slightly bitter. Very nice.

Rock Bottom Yorktown, Lombard, IL
kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Sep 8, 2008 Growler. Pours orange amber with a thin off-white head that dissipates very quickly. Aroma is fainly funky with hints of coriander and a weissen-like yeast. Flavor is dry with fruity hints and and a earthy spicy finish. Rich full body that fills the mouth and lingers with a pleasant tartness. Seems a bit flat. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Aug 3, 2008 on tap at RB Yorktown. hazy golden in color with a creamy white head. spicy, earthy, buttery aroma. flavors of earthy, touch of hay and biscuit, pretty dry and spicy finish. this is the most authentic tasting saison i’ve had from the chicago area. really well done. my only complaint is that it could be improved by a livelier carbonation.
