DrnkMcDermott (1597), Downers Grove, Illinois, USA Sep 20, 2008 Mug Club Draft. Full amber color, a nearly creamy head. Scent of fruits and a bit of nutty roast, then the usual weizen esters and some coriander. Sharp contrast between fruit and banana with nut brown malt and some Bavaria/Bohemian hop mix. The banana taste can wear on you if you are not that into it. Nice malty finish for a very solid tap beer.
kseecs16 (601), Westmont, Illinois, USA Nov 30, 2008 Growler from the Yorktown RB. Pours a murky orange golden with a thin off-white head. Aroma is sweet, hints of bubblegum, clove, banana with some citric sour yeast character. Flavor is tart, some rich clove notes and citrus. Good, medium bodied with a bitter fruity finish. tmoreau (41), Lombard, Illinois, USA Nov 1, 2008 Mug Club served with a deep orange, unfiltered/cloudy hue. Medium white head with a light, baked banana bread, spice/clove aroma. Add a little sweet caramel to round out the flavor. Very little hop bitterness. Almost a deeper, cloudier, milder version of the Gogootz. A very drinkable, multi-mug, pair with anything brew. drewbeerme (1895), Chicago, Illinois, USA Oct 20, 2008 on draft at RB Yorktown. pours murky hot cider looking, with white head. nose of banana, clove. flavor is banana, clove, toasted, nice brew, sort of inbetween a hefe and dunkel weiss beer, but i still thought it was more of a hefeweizen. chicagodri (634), Chicago, Illinois, USA Sep 23, 2008 Pours a hazy amber with a decent size head. Aroma of coriander, some nuts, and some fruit, mainly banana. Banana flavor is strong, a little much so. Decent beer though. Had this after the Bears lost to the Bucs to drown my sorrows.
