BigSkyman007 (190), USA Jun 7, 2003 I love the orange color of this beer...nice hoppy aroma, and nice balance of hops. The best of the Rock Creek beers that I have had. turtlehead (111), Nottingham, New Hampshire, USA Jun 17, 2000 On the lesser end of the traditionally hopped IPA’s, I have found this beer to be more balanced in character with a sweet molasses after taste. Flatline99 (36), Durham, North Carolina, USA Jun 25, 2002 Very hoppy, not a truly great IPA, but a genuinely good beer. JackLanders (55), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Jan 16, 2004 Well-balanced with a distant note of hazelnut. Not as highly hopped as I would like (but what is?). Overall, this was not a groundbreaking IPA but it was very drinkable. Rock Creek beers are getting harder to find in my area of Virgina, which is unfortunate because I've found something to like in everything they've put out. gthank (73), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 19, 2002 Pours up with the typical off-white head (a bit thin, here) over the coppery body. A good combination of pine and floral notes in the nose. Nothing special in the palate department. The flavor is nicely balanced between the malt and hops, with the same balance between pine and floral notes as found in the aroma. Overall, a right nice IPA.
