DocLock (4102), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 13, 2004 Bottle cellar stored from fall 2003: Great pumpkin ale. Amber colored, with strong spice and pumpkin aromas. Tastes malty and very much like pumkpin pie. I regret that I will never be able to drink this beer again. chronictonic (351), Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2003 I'm not usually a fan of unusually spiced beers - they usually taste "overdone" (aka - Harpoon Winter Warmer). This one however is really delicious. Bright rusty orange in color. The aroma is that of autumn - spicey, woody, refreshing - one of those smells that triggers your brain into thinking of warm and pleasant memories. The taste is even better than the aroma. Delicious country spices blended perfectly with malt and hops give this beer a flavor that is complex but not "forced". Hints of autumn potpourri spices. Highly recommended. gthank (73), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Sep 19, 2002 The beer had a nice head over a bright body. It’s aroma is satisfyingly spicy. It sits a bit thin in the mouth. Flavor-wise, this is rather low on malt compared to Cottonwood’s offering, but right in line with a good Oktoberfest. In fact, I’m going to choose to treat this beer as a spicy Oktoberfest, and probably the best example of that style I came across at the Brewgrass festival. aracauna (2238), Georgia, USA Sep 16, 2002 Less pumpkin than some. Good spice, lower malt than cottonwood’s pumpkin ale.
