All Colorado Beer Festival. Color is orange hazy with small head. Odd light hop aroma of grass, fruit, and oak. Weird nose but I’m intrigued. Flavor is bitter and then very grapefruit. Also some maltier notes come out beneath the oak that seems to mask and misguide the rest of the flavors. Interesting finish.

Draft at Brewery 8/10/09-Pours a hazy dark amber with a small tan head. Aroma of cherry, oak, and mint. Taste of oak, malt, and slight citrus. This medium bodied brew was way too much in the oak department. Overpowering.

Had this on tap at the Rocky Mountain Brewery on 8/11/09. Color is an amber with orange tones and good carbonation that gives a nice small head. Aroma is citrusy with a back tone of oak and something like mint. Starting with a medium body it goes down with a sharp feel. Finish jumps out with big oak then a little malt, citrus and a mild bitterness. After taste is more oak. This brew just has way too much oak in it, almost hard to drink.

Growler from brewery-I am a huge IPA guy and I love local brews. This one did not quite cut it for me. The hop and oak flavors just did not mix that well. It was a little on the heavy side for an IPA. The carbonation was a little low and almost no lacing. I really enjoy some other brews from this brewery and hope that they improve their IPA.

(draft). Cloudy copper/brown color. Small off white head. Moderate hop aroma with light oak. Hop and oak flavors which don’t seem to go well together. Avg duration. Light bitter, oak finish. Thin texture. Moderate carbonation. Fair lacing.
