Had this on tap at the Rocky Mountain Brewery on 10/7/08. Color is near black with light carbonation and a small tan head. Aroma is like a deep roasted coffee. Starting with a medium body it goes down smooth. Finish comes in with roasted malt, coffee and toasted caramel then a nice bitterness rolls in. In the after taste the roasted flavor hang on with a light burnt taste. This is a nicely done Porter.

(on tap at the brewery on 5/29/09. Named "American Porter," but based on previous ratings I’m guessing it is the same beer). Pours a black color. Small tan head. Light coffee aroma. Malt and coffee flavors. Long duration. Thick texture. No lacing. Moderate carbonation.

Draught at Brewery(10/7/08)-Poured almost black with a thick off white head. Has an aroma of roasted malt and coffee. Taste of the same with some burnt malt thrown in. This medium bodied brew had a nice balance. Overall quite tasty.

Draught. Pours black with an average, frothy, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (chocolate, coffee, toasted grain), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather) with notes of toffee and licorice. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness.

Growler poured a clear dark brown nearly black with red highlights and a small lingering brown head. Aromas of coffee, milk chocolate, light vanilla and a hint of smoke. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of milk chocolate, coffee and light vanilla with a smooth malty finish.
