| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2002 Aroma is malty, with hints of vanilla, banana and nectarine. A good rust color, creamy head and a decent emblem earns this a superlative appearance rating. Flavor is mellow, a little buttery, with similar fruit notes as the aroma. Outstanding palate and mouthfeel, with the hops aftertaste building somewhat -- only trifling complaints here about a little metallic twang from the malting. An unexpected quality find on a Tennessee Sunday night in the hotel lounge. IneedAbuheer (69), Ingleside, Illinois, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2002 Had this on draft at the brewery and was very satisfied (also enjoyed the Bearbottom Stout from this brewer as well). A malty red with it’s only possible drawback being a lack of sweetness. Very good flavor nonetheless - a good red in my book.
