beerslayer (753), New Jersey, USA Oct 6, 2003 Not crazy about this German Hefeweizen. Tart, sour, and bitter flavor. Finishes crisp and sweet. jgb9348 (2492), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Oct 3, 2003 Very cloudy golden colour with no head at all. Strong yeast/lemon aroma. Light to Medium-bodied; Very pleasant lemon/yeast taste! Aftertaste is very acidic, lemony and yeasty. Overall, very pleasant...a great beer - definately better than average for the style. I had this pint on draught at Union Jack's in Knoxville, Tennessee on 26-September-2003 with Suttree and Haddon90, thanks guys! mj (4975), Colorado, USA Sep 29, 2003 Old socks and sweat aroma mixed with some sour lemon. Bright yellow, slightly cloudy. Missing everything up front. big sour ginger and sweet flavor. Not favored. haddon90 (1035), Alexandria, Virginia, USA Aug 19, 2003 Poured a clear yellow color. Strong wheat aroma. Kind of a sour taste. The lemon saved it. Not very impressive. Had on tap at Union Jack's English Pub in Knoxville, TN. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 1, 2003 Yeasty aroma and hazy appearance
very typical of style. However, the flavor
is weak, and there is an awful sour taste
at the end. I don't want to say that there
is infection, but it certainly is possible. Wiseblood (658), Clarksville, Tennessee, USA May 20, 2003 Floral citrus and lemon aromas combined with a cloudy bright yellow color made this appealing for a warm day. The flavor wasn't as appealing though-there wasn't enough of it and at first sip, seemed to be too sour with what tasted like dirt-which I'm guessing was yeast-that detracted substantially. The dirt/yeast flavor went away soon enough, but there wasn't any other perceptible flavor that took its place. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA Mar 23, 2003 Cloudy and a bit whiter than expected, especially after smelling it. The clove and banana richness expected was there in force. There was some sourness at the start that came back in the almost-cloying aftertaste. Overall a nice weisse, but a bit sour in spots.
