| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 25, 2003 Had this on tap at the Mellow Mushroom in Chattanooga. Light orange in appearance. Absolutely no head to it - or a discernible aroma. Hops were not very apparent. It had an odd mouthfeel to it - does not taste or feel like an IPA at all. More malt than hops - an odd take on an IPA. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2002 More of a British style IPA than the West Coast styles we might be used to. Nice hop bite, and a smooth mellow flavor. This brewery seems to be steadily improving, and they had some wonderful seasonal offerings - Smoky the Beer, a smoked porter; and this year’s tasty (and potent) harvest ale. Definately worth a try if you are ever in the East Tennessee area. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 5, 2002 Light aroma. Peaty, a tad smokey and red malt bittered. It is indeed dry, and bitter on the backend. Lingering red malt palate. jgb9348 (2515), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2003 Good colour, with a nice hoppy nose. Decent taste, but slightly malty, which addds some complexity to the overall beer. Shag (1923), Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA

Good head and appearance. Hoppy taste but not overdone. As this is probably the closest microbrew to me, I must say I am impressed. JoeM500 (1876), Chicago (little italy), Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Mar 23, 2003 A bit different than I expected, but a nice surprise. Spoiled by midwest hop-addict Dr. Feelgoods like Three Floyds and Bells, I totally expect all IPAs to be huge and hoppy, but this one was subtle and soft, malty and sweet, saving the dry bitter send-off until the tail end. More balanced as it warmed, this was a nice mug of beer. (Make sure to tell your waiter to warm the glass, otherwise it shows up covered in ice!) haddon90 (1039), Alexandria, Virginia, USA
