muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA Jul 17, 2007 Large draught sample at the brewpub, June 26 2007. Pale gold, quite clear, with a bit of lasting head and nice spidery lacing....aroma is very weak, a bit bready/cereal in nature with virtually no hop presence, relatively clean at least....mineralic, grainy body with a light apple fruitiness, touch sour towards the finish....low carbonation, fairly full. sliffy (1966), Columbus, Ohio, USA Feb 1, 2007 On tap @ the brewpub: Pale gold in color with a creamy white head. Aroma, some yeast, a mild floral and grassy hop aroma to it. Flavor, pale malts, some grassy hops, a little bready, and some lemon. So so. StewardofGondor (1934), Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA Jan 18, 2007 Transparent and pale with a magnifying lemon-vinegar color and a creamy snow cap of white for the head. Husky gardenias rip through the nose, along with ragweed, abandoned lemongrass roots and skunks running through dried out wheat fields. Light lemon freshness flavor meets garden grain streams. Buttered sourdough takes on an herbal bite, manifesting a corny acquisition upon each sip. Peas and potato bagels see us to the door. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA Aug 14, 2006 Draft at the brewpub. Aroma: Lots of grain in the nose. A good hop aroma, with some citrus, floral, and slight grass. Getting a hint of green apple, as well. Appearance: Golden yellow and clear. Head was white, frothy, and good sized. Head lingered for awhile. Flavor: A nice balance of malt and hops. Malts come out first with a nice biscuity grain flavor. The hops come on in the middle with some citrus, floral, and grassiness. A bit of green apple in the flavor, as well. Nice clean flavor. Palate: Light bodied. Strong but appropriate carbonation. Finish was crisp and clean. Overall: A good beer to start the session with. Good clean flavors and a nice crisp, refreshing finish. Good stuff. OhioDad (2491), Hilliard, Ohio, USA Jul 1, 2006 On tap at the brewpub on 6/28/06 - Pours golden with a short white head that stayed pretty well and laced the sides of the glass. Aromas of light grains and grassy hops. Flavor is amazingly complex with some apricot, some apples, and grassy hops blended with grains. Good carbonation with a crisp palate and a good clean mouthfeel. Nice beer. argo0 (6842), Washington DC, USA May 29, 2006 Sparkling straw body with white head, nice lacing. Aroma is medium sweet, grassy, light herbal. Taste is medium sweet, grassy, some peach, light apple, spice. Light crisp body. joeycapps (1466), Waterdown, Ontario, Canada Aug 31, 2005 Nicely carbonated, clear gold w/ creamy white foam. Well-balanced aroma of floral hops & bready malts w/ a light, delicate fruitiness. Light, effervescent feel. Clean, crisp flavour w/ some nutty & toasty notes. Moderately dry finish. Fine example of a kölsch.
