Well-balanced aroma of floral hops & bready malts w/ a light, delicate fruitiness. Light, effervescent feel. Clean, crisp flavour w/ some nutty & toasty notes. Moderately dry finish. Fine example of a kölsch. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Aug 18, 2005 I apparently love this one far more than others do. Bright gold, good head, very firm. Crisp and light nose. Is a simply great kolsch, big sweet, creamy malts, lightly nutty and toasty. Ends very dry and bitter, very big hops. Palate is simply phenomenal, very creamy and rich. Love it. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 1, 2005 This had moments of appeal and then moments of blandness. Slightly golden with a very minimal head - maybe the pour? Some maltiness and some light floral hops. Long finish with a medium, creamy mouthfeel. OK. kujo9 (1077), North Ridgeville, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jan 18, 2005 On tap @ RR: large rocky white head on a medium golden body. Lots of bubbles from the bottom of the glass. Floral hop aroma and grainy malt dominate. Very clean, very little to no fruitiness. Graininess is like cereal grains. Very well balanced flavor as a koelsch should be, but a light bitterness & flowery hop flavor creep into the finish & aftertaste. The grainy malt flavor lasts througout the palate. Creamy smooth mouthfeel, lighter medium body, medium carbonation. A fairly good example of a German koelsch here locally. Very little fruitiness, actually very clean, & smooth. michael-pollack (2713), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 29, 2004 No aroma. Golden color, but not too light like a crap-beer. Some citrus notes, and a little hops, but not that much flavor. Better than US Light Beer, but not at much of a "dark alt" as I would have like. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA

Very refreshing and quaffable. Much better unfiltered. RE-RATE: Robust hoppy aroma, with a noble characteristics and the slightest touch of citrus. Clean, crispy flavors with assertive noble hop flavors. Very good for the style. bender (293), Reynoldsburg, Ohio, USA

Delicate malt aroma.
Malt (pils-like) with a nice hop bite for the flavor. Tastes like a noble hop. Some fruit from the yeast.
Medium-bodied with a crisp, dry finish.
