Commercial Description:
Very dark and smooth ale is made from European Pale Ale, CaraMunich, and Chocolate malts with roasted wheat, roasted rye, and rolled oats, as well. Amarillo Hops are used to impart bitterness. This beer is pushed from the brewery's serving tanks using a Nitrogen gas blend, giving a unique thick and creamy mouthfeel.

GABF. Some roastiness comes through in the aromas, but it was difficult to pick up. Not much in the way of flavor either. Some chocolate maybe. OK

On tap @ Rockyard poured a clear dark brown with a small quickly disapating tan head. Aromas of bitter chocolate, coffee, roasted malt and a hint of smoke with a smooth slightly dry lingering bitter finish.

Black and rather opaque; quickly fading head. Thick and soft texture. Roasty and toasty with a milky-sweet base. Notes of dark chocolate and a pinch of sourness. Large amount of hop bitterness, which lingers well into the aftertaste.

12 oz. btl. light smells of roast and coffee. Initial taste is exactly like a tootsie roll, nice chocolate and burnt toffee thing going on. Unfortunately, it’s quickly gone with a watery, thin finish, and somehow the flavor got less pronounced and flatter as it warmed. OK - they could do a lot better with some tinkering on this one.

Draft brewery-A pitch black body with no carbaonation Very very small aroma of roasted malt. Taste of malt, coffee, and chocolate. The body was light and the beer was flat.
