JK (2401), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA Mar 8, 2008 Good of Brewfiend to share this one. I didn’t agree with the other guys and I found this to be hard to drink and not very good at all. Acidic aroma, and not like a lambic acid. More acid in the flavor. Some sugar and hot from alcohol. LawStudent09 (315), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Mar 1, 2008 2007 vintage, courtesy of Brewfiend. Copper pour with a small, thin off-white head. Caramel malt aroma with banana. The flavor is semi-sweet caramel with a bit of hop and alcohol. badgerben (3074), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Feb 28, 2008 2007 Vintage: Thanks to Brewfiend for bringing this one in. Copper color with no head. Caramelly aroma and a fairly strong earthy hop presence. Strong, sweet caramel taste. Heavily toasted malt. Alcohol is pretty hot. Quite good. Skyview (2851), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Feb 27, 2008 A 2007 Vintage, sampled at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits and shared by Brewfiend. Pours a semi-clear copper amber brew with a creamy off-white head that slowly dissipates to a thin ring and film top. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, some flowery hops, a touch of toffee, light banana esters and a touch of brown sugar. Taste is medium bodied, semi-sweet, light carbonation with flavors of sweet caramel malt, some high alcohol bite, toffee and a touch of sweet apples. Finish is high alcohol warmth, with a candi sugar and caramel malt aftertaste that really sticks on the back of your tongue. Nice Eisbock! Schultsc (407), Henderson, Nevada, USA Nov 17, 2007 Bottled--thanks Coaltrain W&S, CO Springs, CO. Pours a dark amber with copper highlights and a thin, fine, off-white head. Posesses a not unpleasant damp, grainy aroma typical for the style with caramel, spice, bananna, and apple fruit notes. German malt flavors with caramel sweetness, more spice, ripe cherry and significant alcohol with bock yeast fermentation flavors and very little hops character. Big, full body with multi-dimensional flavor profile with a long, warm finish.
