Deep amber brown pours to a tiny head w/ nice lace. Smell remindss me of KRE big huge malty slightly tart cherry light brown sugar and some yeasty notes. Pal is full lightly tart creamy swallow. Flavor is a great lightly tart cherry a nice sweet back w a great balance & smoothness & lightly dry hopy finish. I’d barely say this is sour enough to be in the flemish category but it’s damn good there.

Bottle @ Den Tatoverede Enke, Copenhagen. Cloudy brown / red color with a small off-white head. Aroma is cherry, wood, candy, vinegar. Flavor is heavy sweet, and acetic (vinegar) with a average duration. Very complex in well balance ... very very nice ...

33cl bottle via trade with Goldtwins saved for a while to share with Bikesandbeer who gave me the idea to pursue this beer in the first place. Pours reddish brown with a bit of tan ring of a head. The nose is sour, sweet and really pretty complex and interesting. The taste is sweet, sour, a bit vinegary and very interesting. A lot more muted than the more crazy grand cru. Pretty damn tasty. Damn really nice beer.

Wow, I never expected to be able to try this. Pantanap cracked it open in the parking lot right before the winter beer fest. Happy 400th! Big aroma arose out of the glass. Great sweet and sour going on. Tart cherries at the front. Taste is big and delicous. Definitely sour, but doesn’t overwhelm. As I continued it somehow got more drinkable. I don’t know how time has effected it, but the taste really filled the mouth and heightened toward a perfect and lasting finish. Overall, a masterpiece of a beer.

Sampled at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3 gathering. 1996 bottle courtesy of psprings. Deep amber pour with a small light head. Citrus, cherries, grapes and light vinegar in the aroma. Flavor is both sweet and tart at the same time, with lots of the fruits and a bit of wood and vinegar. Absolutely delicious! Thanks Paul!

This was hanging on better than I’d heard. Hazy copper color with cherries, brown sugar, and pitted fruits. A smooth body with similar flavors and the faintest hint of banana marring the otherwise fantastic body. A very thick mouthfeel.

Bottle at DHVL. 1992 vintage. Pours clear reddish chesthut coloured with a thin yet lacing off white head. Aromas of sour cherries, oak, almonds, balsamic vinegar and mild sherry notes. Fresh and clean flavour with notes of wood, sour berries, balsamic vinegar and a semi sweet finish. I didn’t expect that this beer would be so tasty after all those years in a basement.. Tasty stuff!

Bottle generously shared by Wetherel at the Fordest tasting. From notes. Pours golden amber with a quickly deminishing tan head. A very trat aroma, predominately sour cherries. A very harmonious sour ale, I believe John found out it was brewed in 1999, 8 years of mother nature have done wonders with this. Very nice mouth feel, wonderful.
