| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 19, 2003 Pours a bright red color with just a little, off-white head. The aroma is magnificent, sweet and tart cherries, both must and wood, and it's slightly vinous. The flavors are not quite as strong as the aroma, but still quite wonderful. Sour cherries, wood, wine, a touch of vinegar and a hint of citrus. A nice balance to both sweet and sour aspects. Neither overpowers the other. A wonderful beer. I've still got one more. Hopefully I can even find others. DavidP (1743), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA

Aroma of cherries, dark bread, and chocolate cake. Tart, yeasty end to the aroma. Similar characteristics in the flavor except that the cherry tartness comes out more. Dry, tart finish. A delicious desert beer, thanks go to Matt (MrFacto) for sharing this one with me! dirtymike (2018), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA

Bottle was brought up from the cellar with an unreal amount of dust and cobwebs.I don’t know if you can manufacture dust and cobwebs but if you can it was well worth it for the appearance and made it worth the 15 euros I spent.Crystal clear amber color with a small off-white head. Aroma of wood/oak,cherries,slighlty acidic and sweet. Flavor is of sweet malt, sour cherries. Racegoer (338), Somewhere Out There, USA

Tart, sour (the good kind) and very sharp on the tongue.Cheery sweet with just the right amount of sourness to compliment, the oak really comes thru. Could smell this beer all day if given the chance. Tons of wood, oak, earth, and dried sweet cherry. Well balanced with sweet and sour battling to the finish. Medium to full bodied, pillow soft carbonation, drying cherry and oak finish. Just awesome!

A sweet cherry taste tops off this fine Belgian Ale. I just wish I could find it now that it’s no longer brewed... willblake (2187), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Deep redtoned brown pour like cherry wine made in 2002. Voluminous khaki head slowly fades leaving lazy pillows of lace about the glass like cloud animals. Aroma is sour, cherries, woody, calvados. Brutally sour first sip is awash in fresh cherries, early season, just picked. Lots of wood, caramel. It’s clean, dry, astringent to a fault to finish. It’s excellent but makes me thirsty for more. Thanks for this special treat, Mike!
