The pour reveals a cloudy amber color with a thin white head. Excellent aroma of tart and sweet cherries with mild vinegar. The flavor is excellent with a good balance between tartness and sweetness, the sweetness tends to dominate in the finish though. The body has a light to medium thickness with a superb creamy and dry mouthfeel and moderate carbonation. After so many years the bottle kept really well, the carbonation is not strong but it doesn’t fell oxydated.

Pours a lite caramel brown, lots of bubbles. Aroma of cherries, and apples, yeasty as well. Flavor is tart with cherries and apples as well. Yeast also present, the alcohol was masked well. Finish is malty and sweet. A little sour as well. Thanks to PsychProf for this amazing brew!

12 oz bottle, via Styles I believe. Pours a clear dark copper to amber with a reddish tinge under a one finger fizzy beige head that retained as a foamy covering. The aroma is just mouthwatering. Equal parts Flemish Sour and pure raspberry essence. Reminds me of a raspberry eiswine. Just a slight foreshadow of tartness. Really great tart raspberry flavor. Just like fresh picked off the bush. How is that possible after this many years? Tart slightly acetic bracing finish. Lots of sweetness, but not cloying at all. Mouthfeel is medium to full bodied with a nice drying acetic finish that kinda sucks the saliva out of your cheeks. A world class beer. A shame that they took it away. Amazing to think that this is "old".

Bottle. [thank you, Søren and Feldthaus]
my Belgian rating #1001
Pour is clear red-golden with a small, creamy, beige head. Fine duration for a sour ale. Magnificent aroma! Cherries, oak, barnyard, raspberries, caramel, some toasted notes and slight herbal. Highish prickly carbonation, light but also slightly oily mouthfeel. Flavour is great, very tart at first. Cherries, oak, citric, fruity, caramel sweetness. It gets more mellow later in each sample. Caramel, Belgian sugar. Immensely drinkable and brilliant balance between sweet and tart. Yum!

Excellent red ale. Flavor is much more intense than aroma. Not much head, and pretty cloudy.

I was really suprised when I first drunk this beer. Sweet, sour... It’s a great pity that they don’t brew this beer anymore.

Pours a hazy dark copper with a reddish tint. Aroma of tart cherry, oak, and even a little alcohol (which surprised me sine this is only 6%). Flavor was tart and fruity. Mostly cherry again. This almost had two distinct layers. One dry and woody and the other sweet and fruity. So it seems like it is about to give a dry finish but then conitnues on we a sweet soft tanginess. The finish is very light, soft, and silky.
