Dark brownish red. Big fresh cherry aroma. very fruity, vinuous and sweet. Only a hint of acidity. One of the beers that got me into beer sampling, and it’s just too bad that one of the worlds best fruit beers should be discontinued.

Bottle, best until april 1993! Pinkish brown color. No foam left. Last remains of cherry juice, vinegar and sherry in the aroma. Thin. No carbon left. Beautiful vinous flavor with cherries, caramel, citric sourness, even remains of oak. Past its peak, but has matured brilliantly and is still very much drinkable.

KSBF 04 Thanks to EDA for this sampling! Small tan head, good retention with some sticky lacing. Hazy light amber, red hued brew. Surprisingly cherryish nose, earthy, fruity. A thinner body than expected. Sour cherry flavors but not overly, light mustiness, oak, vinegary and some malty grainyness. Dry, lightly tart finish, interesting. Would like to try this one again, alot going on here. Thanks mike!

Bottle at Bier circus: Pours redbrown, with a thin white head. It smells intensly of fresh cherries, with just a hint of sourness. Taste is fresh cherries, with notes of almonds, long sweet after taste

1996 bottle shared by psprings at hellbilly’s hellraiser 3.0 tasting. Somewhat fermented fruit aroma but did detect a grape note present. Gold body color. Fruity and sour flavor and seemed like the tart had subided abit. Thanks Paul another one from want list.

Brown red with a small foamy white head. Huge acetic acid aroma with hints of tart cherries. Acrid vinegar flavors, with a burgeoning vein of cherry that cuts through even the sourest of it. Finish has a lingering cherry tart to it. I will leave the lavish descriptions of what acetic acid tastes like to more experienced sour beer enthusiasts.

holy crap!1996 bottle from the bottom of psprings’ cellar... talk about white whale!!!

clear (though i’m sure paul drank the sludge!) auburn dark brown with no head. it smells really fruity and sweet... kinda like the sweetness in brandy without the boozy burn. other notes of buttery toast, aged red wine vinegar without the harshness, red cherries, caramel/malt and stony minerals. the flavor is really sweet... surprisingly so. cherry juice, wood and grain are the only things that held up, albeit well. there is little left which could be called sour... more of a tannic drying quality on the finish. body doesn’t matter... i’m in awe of how well this has held up and jealous of those who sampled this when it was fresh! 8/4/6/4/17/3.9

Thanks to mcbackus. Sweet aroma of cherries, honey and red wine vinegar. Fruity flavor with a smooth and low carbonated mouthfeel. Very tasty.
