I have waited so long to try this beer, and I can say that I am definitely not dissapointed. The pour was a very dark brown with red hues. I got brown sediment specks falling into the bottle. The head was tan. Aroma was great--cherries, of course, sourness, and some earthiness as well. The flavor is simply amazing. The taste is definitely sour cherries, but you get a shot of a sort of smoked flavor in the finish. The mouthfeel is very creamy and not too thin which is nice. Amazing beer.

1996 bottle, I think. Reddish amber body with a thin fizzy head. Very fruity, oaky and sour smell with some grapes, cherries, chocolate, raisins and lemons. The taste is incredibly fruity with a strong sour back. Cherries, dates, plums, oak, lemons, oranges, chocolate, raisins, and tons more. Complex, and aging great. Can’t wait to have another bottle in 10 years!

Bottle generously shared by jarspag for the 7/18 Death Metal Tasting at his place in Orange County. We finally got around to opening this masterpiece of a beer! The beer pours a hazy burgundy color with some lacy beige swirls that float on the surface. Some yeast sediment settles to the bottom. It looks quite mellowed and still; expected with 10+ years of age since Palm stopped brewing this. The aroma is loaded with oak wood and tart, acidic cherry. Notes of potpourri, cinnamon bread, sherry wine, banana rum and lightly bittered toffee follow. The flavor is really something to appreciate here. Ultra-subtle transitions give way to sweet berry and dark grapes with cherry jam and old musty oak wood. The flavor’s finish is very earthy with lingering yeast and raisin bread character. Tart and acetic, but not puckering or weak. Palate is what truly blew me away here, I wish I could have scored it higher than a 5. The body is velvet on the tongue. The aged personality of this beer amazing. Superb drinkability. Wow, I’m awestruck.

One of the latest brews and 1 9 yrars older. The tast was totaly different. Still have 2 bottles for tasting a bottle of 6 % and an older bottle of 5.1 percent. bouteille, j’adore cette bière tout comme la grand cru, je suis allé en Belgique en 1993 juste pour la boire, rien de mieux à l’horizon...

Huge thanks to Puddintane shared w/John_Adam!! Big things to come in small packages. Holy sh*t this beer rocks! I did not like sour ales before drinking this, but I have to admit this one really changed my mind. Pours maroon color with small amounts of white head. Aroma is cherries and wood, but mostly cherries. Taste is a 15/10 on this one. Loads of cherries and other minor flavors like wood and brown sugar. This beer is one of the best I’ve had so far, will be tough to beat it. Very highly recommended especially to those who bash sours and lambic beers. I did, but now I can’t because this beer was amazing.

Bel rubino-colore ambrato, schiuma cremosa. Profondo aroma di aceto, legno, zucchero, lievemente fruttato. In bocca è vellutato, perfetto equilibrio tra dolcezza e acidità; delicate note di ciliegia.

Unfortunately not made anymore, but I have some stash left. Love the wonderful color and the sour finish. Definitely a loss to the beer world
