timfoolery (379), California, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle from a store in downtown Ashland, OR. This one reminded me of some Russian River brews I’ve had in the past 6 months. This sour ale is a tame version of those. While not watery, I’ll describe the taste as weak, sweet cranberry. I’ll always love the genre, so I have to pump it up.
Naven (743), San Diego, California, USA Nov 30, 2008 I hate sour beers. I really do. But, this one is definitely one of my favorites. It’s not overblown. it doesn’t taste like vinegar. It’s lightly soured, refreshing and easy to drink. Classic. TheJollyOne (46), Kofu, Japan Nov 29, 2008 Poured a chestnut brown body with a very quickly diminishing, off white head. Light balsamic vinegar, cranberries, and apples on the nose. Tasted of sour apples, lemon citrus, and a hint of white vinegar, pleasant. Bubbly and medium palate, watery, goes down easily. Good sour ale.
jonno (217), Japan Nov 29, 2008 A solid drop, but too late to savour after dinner, as I did. Not so complex (obviously) it finishes with a TM sour finish. I prefer Duchess to this, but thats a personal preference. enjoyable bonfunck (38), Waasmunster, Belgium Nov 27, 2008 25cl bottle in local pub, very refreshing complex volatile fruitiness of wine,a bit sourish but just fine. beninak (1), , Alaska, USA does not count Nov 26, 2008 The bottle I got had an extremely low carbonation level. Poured nearly flat, with a dark amber color and no real head to speak of. Had the aroma of "sour patch kids" candy. Flavor was mildly sour, yet complex , light and refreshing at the same time.
I brought this beer home from Belgium, wish I had brought more than one bottle
