Commercial Description:
Bottle: Filtered.
A blend of 1/3 young beer and 2/3 of beer aged 2 years in large oak vats. The more important proportion of oak matured beer contributes to its fruity taste, complexity and intensity. The finish is worthy of a great wine.

Shared at Where the Wild Beers Are 2009. Awesome beer. This is a great representation of the style. The aroma is funk, fruit, malty, sour and yet like a dopplebock at the same time. the appearance is a beautiful red/brown, cloudy, off-white head. The flavor is malty, brown mustard, vinegar, fruit. The finish is a tart fruit sour taste. Very, very good.

(bottle) pours a clear dark ruby colour with a short-lived off-white head. aroma of oak, cherries, balsamic vinegar and vanilla, with some surprising hints of smoke and char. flavour is the same, with a fruity sweetness that is very well balanced and mellow. medium body with lush carbonation and a lightly sour finish.

Pours a caramel, dark honey color with a frothy off-white head. Smells of white grapes, melon and sour cherries. Feels almost champagne like in the mouth, a nice soft palate with great tartness. Tastes almost sweet, though i think thats the wrong word. White grapes and cherries for taste, with nice lacing in the glass.

33cl bottle bought in Belgium. Pours a cloudy red-brown with a fast-disappearing head, sweetish aroma of pear drops and redcurrants with a hint of vinegar. Palate is initially dry, woody and musty, becoming fruity and refreshing, but finishing off sweet and slightly cloying.

First sour ale. Really good, pours murky brown. Acidic, but not too sour. Interesting. Had last night so not too detailed.

Red/brown color. No head. Aroma: sour, fruity, berries, a little citrus. Taste: blackcurrant and red berries, some citrus here also. High carbonation. Pretty good.
