BeerZack (116), Austin, Texas, USA May 6, 2008 Fairly clear mahogany color with but a small thin tan covering of bubbles.
Sweet fruit-wine smell and acetone jump right out. As it warms more sweet fruit, caramel and sour apple come out to join the fingernail polish.
Pretty sour impression. Almost a rotten fruit-like impression, sour cherry, fruitcake gummies, and a bunch of fingernail polish.
Why does this fingernail polish taste/smell so appetizing? Very acidic and juicy feeling, begs to be drunk.
cellar (336), Dublin, Ireland Sep 7, 2008 Clear deep amber with tiny head. Malty fruity aroma, wood and sour berries develops in mouth. Flavour is both sweet and sour, mostly sour, especially in finish. Very complex. Nik925 (136), California, USA Sep 6, 2008 I was not expecting all this had to offer. Poured with a great head and the yeast funk just wafted off of it. In the taste there was apple funk, and as it warmed it had notes of canned cherry pie filling funk. All flavors were accompanied by funk. It was good but its really funky. goozen (763), Leiden, Netherlands Sep 6, 2008 Botle 0,33ltr: Reddish brown coloured ale with cherries and a well blanced sour taste. BOLTZ7555 (463), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 29, 2008 Crimson with strawberry edges...this one packs a tightly packed 1/4 inch off-white head. Aroma is of oak, ripe cherries, lemon zest, and sweet vanilla. Flavors are dominated by red ripe cherry, unripened plum, and the sourness of lemon. Plentiful carbonation and medium mouthfeel. Enjoyed this one. noncaloric (50), Madison, Wisconsin, USA Aug 24, 2008 Updated: Aug 25, 2008On tap, small snifter. Dark red-brown liquid with a thin off-white head. Aromas of honey and vinegar. Flavor initially vinegar-sour with a touch of honey sweetness, turning to vinegar-sour with hints of cherries and caraway seeds, fading to a long, sour, oaky finish. A bit of malty sweetness lasts to the finish, and takes the edge off an otherwise astringent mouthfeel.
